Teen Writer Spotlight: The Chase by Mandi

I went to the field one summer day
To ask the wind if he wanted to play
He told me he would like to race
Then he ran off and started the chase
As fast as I was he was faster still
Then it happened as we neared a hill
I started to leap and started to bound
And finally started gain some ground
My feet were becoming increasingly sore
But still I ran and ran some more
I ran, but still, I could not touch his tail
But I knew at this I could not fail
And as the race was nearing its end
I touched the tail of my windy friend
Then I stopped and shouted with glee
"That's none for you and one for me!"
