Book Review: Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

When Coach McConaughy decides to switch the seating chart up in Nora Grey's biology class, she's not too happy. Instead of best friend Vee for a bio partner, she's now stuck with the transfer student, Patch. A guy who's done nothing but skulk in the back of the room all semester is not exactly what Nora needs to pass bio.

Patch is rude, arrogant, pushy, and knows just how to get under Nora's skin. He's also heart-stoppingly gorgeous. Add in that he seems to know a lot about Nora there's no way he should, and that he seems to show up everywhere she is, and there's definately something not right about him. Vee is sure that he's stalking Nora. Nora isn't, but she knows she doesn't want anything to do with him. At all. Even if Patch definately wants something to do with her.

Nora is driving home after a run-in with Patch at the library (she doesn't care if her heart speeds up when she sees him, she is not interested) when the car collides with a man in a black ski mask - who gets up, unharmed, and punches through the window before starting to tear off the door. Terrified, she escapes and drives to Vee's house. But when Vee goes outside to check out the damage, there's nothing wrong with the car. It's like the attack never happened - but Nora's sure it did.

After that, Nora can't seem to stay away from Patch. Even though he radiates danger, she feels safe with him. But who was the man in the black ski mask? Does he even exist? If he does, what if it was Patch? What does Patch want with Nora? And, perhaps the biggest question of all... who, or what, is Patch?

I absolutely devoured this book! A deeply atmospheric paranormal romance with a whole lot of mystery, you'll be frantically flipping pages as Nora finds herself thrown deep into Patch's dark world. You'll be fighting as hard as Nora does to resist Patch's more than slightly disturbing allure, but in the end, just like Nora, I bet you won't be able to tear yourself away. Fall hard for Hush, Hush, and then wait breathlessly for the publication of the sequel, Crescendo!
