Book Review: Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver

Caution! SPOILERS! If you haven’t read Delirium, proceed with caution!

“The old Lena is dead too. I buried her. I left her beyond a fence, behind a wall of smoke and flame.”

Lena has escaped the cure. She has also lost Alex, left him behind in the smoke and flame of Portland after her escape over the fence. The old Lena is gone, replaced with the new Lena of the Wilds.

With alternating chapters from “Then”, when Lena first entered the Wilds, and “Now,” when Lena is back inside the fence working with the Invalid resistance. She encounters Julian, the son of the head of the DFA (Deliria-Free America), and a future martyr for the movement who will have his procedure early in order to combat a medical condition he has had since he was a young boy. Lena and Julian are taken prisoner after a riot during a DFA rally and they must overcome distrust and work together in order to escape.

This second installment Lauren Oliver's Delirium series will keep you turning pages until the very end.
