New Winter Books Preview

Check out these fab new books coming soon to a library near you!

Envy by Anna Godbersen (January 27th)
If you were just as shocked and horrified as I was at how Rumors ended, hurry up already and get your hands on the next Luxe novel to see if Penelope and Henry stay (happily?) married, if Elizabeth can recover from her devastating loss, and what Diana (hopefully) does to win Henry back and get some serious revenge on Penelope. And besides, how can you resist that cover?

Heroes of the Valley by Jonathan Stroud (also comes out January 27th!)
This new one by the author of the Bartimeus trilogy looks awesome! Halli Sveinsson loves heroes and adventure stories, but when he finds himself unexpectedly thrown into (and sort of the instigator of) the middle of one, he's not sure if he's made of the same stuff the heroes in his favorite stories are. Join Halli on his quest for adventure (and revenge!) through the Valley, and maybe you'll get to battle a few gods and monsters too.

Starclimber by Kenneth Oppel (February 24th)
If you love steampunk (I do!), check out the first two in this series, Airborn and Skybreaker, then get ready for what I'm sure is going to be a wild ride, hopefully in the air with some awesome Victorian techno-fabulousness. This time, Matt and Kate are aboard an air vessel that is on its way to the stars, literally. But when Kate announces that she's engaged (not to Matt), the life forms in the air are even stranger and more mysterious than those they encountered on their previous two airborne adventures, and the crew runs into mechanical trouble, will Matt and Kate be able to make it out alive?

The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan (March 10th)
Reading Rants reviewed this one way back in October (they must have gotten an advanced readers' copy, something I do not have, grrrrr...), and I've been antsy for it ever since! A creepy zombie tale, Mary lives in a village deep in the Forest of Hands and Teeth, protected by the fence and the Sisterhood's prayers against the Unconsecrated. When a stranger arrives in the village, her desire for freedom just might be granted, with terrifying results...

City of Glass by Cassandra Clare (March 24th)
OK, technically this one is a spring release, but you guys know how much we love Cassandra Clare! So, are Clary and Jace really sibs? I sure hope not! And what's going to happen to Simon, now that he can't handle the sun? Will Valentine finally get what's coming to him? And will Clary's mom ever wake up so we can get some answers? Find out (hopefully!) when the third Mortal Instruments book (finally!) gets published in March.

Hop on the hold list for these awesome reads @ the library!

(now reading The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness, so Katie can stop gnashing her teeth waiting for me to finish it!)
