The Year We Disappeared by Cylin and John Busby

When Cylin Busby was nine years old her father was shot in the head on the way to work. For the next year, the family lived in a make-shift prison for their own safety, while her dad recovered in a near by hospital.

Cylin and her father John take turns telling their story in this powerful memoir. Part true crime story and part family drama, The Year We Disappeared looks at the Busby's lives before and after this major event. In Cylin's chapters you see what was happening at home and at school, while John's chapters give you he background to why he was shot, and what the police department was doing to protect him and his family.

I was on the edge of my seat while reading this book, and hope fans of true crime and mysteries check it out.
I'll see you @ the library!
