Twi-Likes Part II: All Things Vampire

You've read the Twilight Saga at least 17 times, Midnight Sun is bookmarked on your computer, you've given way too much money to Marcus Theatres (oh wait, that's me!), and you've pre-ordered Twilight to pick up at midnight on Friday, but what are you going to do between now and then? If you can't get enough Twilight, here are a few more suggestions to (help) quench your thirst...

Eternal by Cynthia Leitich Smith
When Miranda reluctantly follows her best friend Lucy to the cemetary for a late night rendevous, she has no idea that her guardian angel, Zachary, is terrified by the shadow of death hovering over her. When he makes a rash decision to save his beloved Miranda from death by showing himself to her in all his radiance, Zachary unwittingly attracts the attention of the Dracula, who choses Miranda for his own Eternal princess. Cast out from Heaven, now-Fallen Zachary's only chance at redeeming Miranda's soul, and his own, is to defeat the most powerful vampire of all... but does Miranda want to be saved?

Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side by Beth Fantaskey
What's an average American senior girl to do when the (totally gorgeous) new exchange student declares that you're not only a Romanian vampire princess, but his long-lost fiancee? Glam it up, of course! Oh yeah, and save the world from a vampire war. I haven't read this one yet, but it looks kinda like The Princess Diaries with a vampiric twist, which in my book equals awesome!

Dead is the New Black by Marlene Perez
Daisy's the only norm in a family of psychics- sis Poppy is telekinetic, and other sis Rose is telepathic (oh yeah, and probably dating a werewolf)- so she's not sure what to do when head cheerleader (and ex-friend) Samantha shows up on the first day of school with a new look that's kind of, well, dead. There's definately some kind of vampire action going on, but can she and cutie boy-next-door Ryan figure out what's going on at Nightshade High before all the cheerleaders end up dead, or, even worse, baby vampires? When you're done with this one, check out the next in the series, Dead is a State of Mind.

Vampire Knight by Matsuri Hino
Yuki and Zero are the human guardians of the Day Class at Cross Academy, keeping the secrets of the vampire Night Class and protecting the human Day Class students. When Yuki finds herself drawn to both Zero, who hides deep secrets of his own, and Kaname, the inhumanly beautiful president of the Night Class and Yuki's protector, sparks fly. This series was my intro to the fabulous world of manga, and I haven't looked back! Volume 6 just came out on March 10th.

The Darkangel by Meredith Pierce
Everyone lives in fear of the beautiful, terrible, many-winged darkangel (another name for the vampire), who must take 14 brides, and their souls, to retain his immortality. But when he abducts servant girl Aerial from the mountaintop to serve the 13 brides he has collected, she sees something in him that makes her abandon her plan to destroy the darkangel and instead do everything in her power to save him...

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Long Way Home, No Future for You and Wolves at the Gate by Joss Whedon
With volume 4 coming out in April, Season 8 of Buffy in graphic novel format isn't to be missed for fans of Buffy, Joss Whedon and all things vampire. You don't know Buffy? Check out seasons 1-7 on DVD! If you're an Angel fan, then we've also got volume 1 of Angel, After the Fall.

Vampire Kisses by Ellen Schreiber
Vampire-obssessed goth girl Raven can't believe her luck- she's sure that all of her dreams of meeting (and falling in love with?) a vampire are about to come true when a new family moves to town and into the enormous gothic mansion on the hill. Alexander is everything Raven could want in vampire- gorgeous, soulful, and intense- but can a human girl and a vampire maintain a nocturnal romance, or will their differences keep them apart? Find out by reading the five books (with the sixth, Vampire Kisses: Royal Blood coming out May 19th) and two manga in the series!

Watch the blog tomorrow and Friday for more Twi-Likes- we've got forbidden romance a la Bella and Edward and some other gorgeous eternals coming your way!

Megan
(now reading Evermore by Alyson Noel, which is spectacular and totally making Friday's Immortals list!)
