Have you been reading up on all the great new Young Adult (also known as YA or even better Teen) Fiction we have been buying for the library? How about checking out the great new books we review all the time? Have you been totally frustrated with the one week check out time on new teen books?
Well, here is a huge announcement...ALL Young Adult Books will have a 3 week check out time!
New YA books used to follow the 7 day rule. This means until the library decides otherwise (usually around 3-4 months) the book only checks out for one week. This is great for new books by popular authors who have 200-300 people waiting for their new book (see Picoult, Jodi or Grisham, John) most teen books aren't in that much of demand. And besides, with school, sports, clubs and other activities, time to read is hard to come by, or even worse you need to have the book for more than 7 days for school.
Worry no longer, now you can enjoy all of the YA fiction for three weeks, whether we got the book one day ago or ten years ago.
