Get Creative Book List: Dance

Three days till teen summer reading and one more book list! Here are some books that feature those who love to dance:

Confessions of a Back-up Dancer by Tucker Shaw: Kelly is a talented dancer who tries out and makes it on pop princes Darcy Barnes' summer tour. Kelly is privy to a world not seen by most, and here she exposes the world of one pop princess!

Dancing in Red Shoes Will Kill You by Dorian Cirrone: Kayla loves to dance, and is one of the best at her performing arts school. When she isn't given the lead in Cinderella, her teacher pulls her aside and recommends breast reduction surgery. What follows next is a school wide debate, mysterious red shoes and a mystery.

Princess at the Midnight Ball by Jessica Day George and Wildwood Dancing by Juliet Marillier: Two retellings of the Grimm's faerie tale, 12 dancing Princesses. Wildwood Dancing has 5 dancing sisters trying to open a door to the land of Faerie, and Princess at the Midnight Ball has 12 princesses in 19th century Europe.

Swan by Ariyoshi Kyoko (Graphic Novel Series): Masumi is off to study Ballet at a famous school in Japan. Unfortunately her lack of training makes her the weakest dancer at the competitive school.

A Time for Dancing by Davida Willis Hurwin: Break out the tissue for this one: Samantha and Juliana are best friends who love dance, until Juliana is diagnosed with cancer. It was also turned into a fantastic made for TV movie, read the book and check out the movie!

There are so many great creative YA books I could talk about, and I hope this is a great start for a very creative summer!
