Get Creative Book List: Visual Arts

With one week left until the start of Teen Summer Reading , we'll continue the countdown with some recommended reading to help you "Get Creative". Today's list celebrates the visual arts, such as painting and drawing:

All American Girl by Meg Cabot: Sam's life changes drastically after she ditches her art class. Maybe those art classes weren't so bad after all?

Blue Mirror by Kathe Koja: Maggy sketches what she sees from the Blue Mirror coffee shop, but what happens when Cole starts paying attention to her, is it love or something less human?

Pieces of Georgia by Jen Bryant: 13-year-old Georgia draws and writes the story of her life, her dad, her friend Tiffany, and the loss of her mom 6 years ago.

What My (Mother/ Girlfriend) Doesn't Know by Sonya Sones: Two books that deal with art class, and what we don't tell the people we love. Sophie tells her story in What My Mother Doesn't Know and Robin follows it up with What My Girlfriend Doesn't Know.

Wish House by Celia Rees: Richard is expecting a boring summer at his parents cottage, until the "Wish House" ends up being occupied with a family of artists and their friends.

Check out these titles, and check the blog tomorrow for some books about drama!
I'll see you @ the library!
