4 more days...until Teen Summer Reading beings! Today I present to you books about writers and aspiring writers.

Generation Dead by Daniel Waters: Phoebe is strangely drawn to Tommy the new differently biotic (zombie) at school. Tensions between the human and zombie students start to rise, and Tommy uses a blog to share his thoughts. (Check out Tommy's blog http://mysocalledundeath.blogspot.com/)

Hard Love by Ellen Wittlinger: John feels alienated from most of his classmates, and finds refuge in his 'zine Bananafish, and meets up with the author of the 'zine that inspired him.- Marisol. The two become friends, and eventually head off to a weekend 'zine conference. (Not sure what a 'zine is, look it up!)

Paisley Hanover Acts Out by Cameron Tuttle: After being embarrassing her self off the Yearbook Staff, Paisley is forced to look elsewhere for her electives. She ends up joining the less popular option, the newspaper even if anonymously! Also included is Paisley's notebook for you to check out her thoughts.

Sleeping Freshmen Never Lie by David Lubar: Scott uses a journal to write letters to his soon to be born sibling, chronicling the events of his freshman year in high school. In attempts to impress a girl he goes ends up on the newspaper staff writing...the sports column.

A True and Faithful Narrative by Katherine Sturtevant: 16-year-old Meg loves book selling and writing, which is not acceptable for a woman in 17the century London. Between her best friends brother traveling overseas, and her father's new apprentice Meg has a lot to think (and write) about.
