Book Review: Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver

Sam (Samantha) Kingston is one of the most popular girls at her school, and ready to head out for Cupid Day, where students send each other roses. Sam knows she will end up with a lot of flowers, and can't wait to start the day with her best friends Lindsey, Ally, and Elody.

Sam also is going to die in a horrible car accident that night. This isn't the end of the story, this is just the beginning. As Sam falls further and further into darkness, she also awakes on the same day, forced to live February 12th all over again.

Sam has another chance to live her life, or so she thinks. Each day she makes changes (does she go to the party? Skip English? Is she nice to her sister?) hoping to be set free from living the same day over and over. Each change she makes has an affect on her, but no one else is living like they have lived this day before.

Before I Fall takes one girl, on one day and shows how little changes can make a big difference. Sam starts to notice different people, and react in different ways. Maybe her "Mean Girl" existence wasn't everything she thought it was.

Fans of books like 13 Reasons Why and Before I Die will find a lot to like here, as well as fans of the movies Mean Girls and Groundhogs Day.

I'll see you @ the library!
