Book Review: Seth Baumgartner's Love Manifesto by Eric Luper

Summer has not been going to well for Seth. First, his girlfriend broke up with him. Next, he sees his dad eating lunch with a woman who is not his mom at Applebee's. Then, he gets fired from his fourth job of the year. Bad if this this all happens in one summer, even worse when it happens on his lunch break. (Seriously, this is all chapter one).

All Seth wants to do is wallow in his break-up, try to win Veronica back and most importantly, avoid his dad at all costs. What's a boy to do other than pour his heart out to the Internet?

Enter the Love Manifesto, his pod-cast show where he talks about love, his relationship with Veronica, and the issues with his dad. His friend Dimitri thinks he's nuts, but the comments and downloads are proving that Seth might be on to something.

Seth Baumgartner's Love Manifesto is both hysterical and tragic. You get to read some of his pod-casts (complete with into and outro music), and see how he worked through the craziness of his life. Seth's has run-ins with "the other woman", girls and some some pretty horrible chicken salad sandwiches. All of this is reported on his show, and what was once personal and anonymous might become more public.

Anyone who has gone through a break-up, or helped a friend through a breakup will get a kick out of this fun summer read. Recommended to fans of light not-so-romantic fiction!

I'll see you @ the library!
