Book Review: Where She Went by Gayle Forman

Warning this book review will have spoilers for the first book, If I Stay. Click here to read our review of If I Stay.

Adam is living his dream life- lead singer/ guitarist for the band Shooting Star, dating the hottest actress in Hollywood, and on his way to start the European tour for his band's newest album. Of course, he can't sleep, is taking medication for his nerves and his bad behaviors have made it necessary for him to stay in separate hotels from his band mates he had been so close to in the past.

When a reporter asks Adam about the "black hole" between Shooting Star's arrival on the music scene and the release of their break out album Collateral Damages he clamps up. This reporter has asked him about the one thing that the people who know the truth will not talk about: his relationship with Mia Hall, the up and coming cellist. Adam tries to play it cool, but he can barely keep it together. His manager gives him some time off, and Adam just needs to get away from his band, his past, and the question of Mia.

It's in this time off that he stumbles upon a concert of Mia's. He buys a ticket, and is invited back stage after the show. Will they be able to say the things they want to each other? Or will they just fade out of each other's lives again.

Gayle Forman once again creates a powerful story where the present is used to help expose the past. This time Adam gets to tell his story including his rise to fame, and his heartbreak over the end of his relationship with Mia. Three years have past, and a lot has happened to all of the characters.

Fans of the first book should not miss out on Where She Went, and fans of romances like Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist or series like Megan McCafferty's Jessica Darling books will enjoy the fated story of Adam and Mia.

I'll see you @ the library!
