Summer Listening

Now that school is out, the weather is heating up and Teen Summer Reading is in full swing, I bet you are looking for more stuff to read.

Have you ever thought about listening to a book? Whether you want something to make a long car ride less boring or just want to listen to a book at the beach there are a couple of options you have this summer.
Want some free books for your MP3 player? Check out SYNC's free teen book downloads. Every week, starting June 14th  and running through August 22nd, they are offereing one free Teen book paired with one free Classic title. First up The Eleventh Plague by Jeff Hirsh and The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck. You only have one week to download these titles, and then they'll be gone. But don't worry, next week there will be two more awesome titles for you to check out. Click here for the full schedule of books for the summer!

Once you've checked out the free titiles on SYNC, check out the library's own collection of MP3 Audiobooks that you can find on Overdrive. Using your library card and PIN, you can access tons of audio books that you can download to your computer, MP3 player and even burn to a CD!

Make sure you check the instructions from these websites before you download the titles, and check with your parents before you download too much awesome to your home computer. Other than that, happy listeneing this summer!

Oh, and listenting to books TOTALLY counts for summer reading. Just find out how many pages the paper copy of the books has, and count those towards your reading total. So if you download and listen to Eleventh Plague this week you would be 278 pages closer to entering the grand prize drawing!

I'll see you @ the library!
Katie
