Book Review: Messy by Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan

Max McCormack needs a new job. Sure she can serve vegetarian fare to L.A.'s up and coming stars, but at what cost? Even her die hard vegetarian self is taking to eating cheeseburgers in retaliation for her not so great work environment. What Max really wants to do is write, and be part of a writing program in New York, which is why she needs the job in the first place.

Brooke Berlin really wants to be A-list famous and with the attention she received from her father after starring in the school play acting is the way to go. To jump start her celebrity status she wants to start a blog detailing her behind the scenes life, but she doesn't have the time to write. She puts an ad out for a ghostwriter, and Max just happens to be the best applicant. It may not be a match made in heaven, but Max can write.

As the blog gains more and more popularity, Brooke's star is on the rise. Max wishes she could share some of her success, but as a ghost writer she is stuck playing the role of Brooke's assistant or tutor (depending on who you ask). Enter Brooke's cute co-star who really seems to like Max even if he also likes blog-Brooke. Working together, Max and Brooke will both get what they want, but working together might be the thing that makes everything end in disaster.
This may be a follow up to the book Spoiled, but you don't have to read the Spoiled to enjoy Messy. Max and Brooke really need each other even if they would never admit it to themselves. Plus there is a new cute "it" boy and guest appearances from Molly and Teddy. Fans of the celebrity watching, reality TV and light realistic books will want to check out Messy!

I'll see you @ the library!
