Book Review: Jessica Darling's It List

Jessica was not nervous about starting Junior High, until Bethany stepped in. Life is different in Junior High. According to her older sister, her level of popularity in Junior High will influence her  popularity For the rest of her life. No pressure there or anything.

Because Bethany is such an awesome sister, she blesses Jessica with her "It List", or her rules for being popular. Four rules should be easy enough, but these four rules turn Jessica into someone who was not worried about seventh grade to someone who has no clue what to expect. From what to wear, what activities to join and who she should date and hang out with, Jessica is super confused as to what the rules mean and how they will work for her.

Good thing she has her best friend Bridget to help her out, except that Bridget has gone from pretty to gorgeous in one shopping trip. On the first day of school she meets up with Sara, Manda and Hope, all potential friends who may just be the "It" crowd she is supposed to find. But does following the "It" list really make Jessica happy, especially since she does things like misinterpret her sisters clear rules?

It's no secret that I am a HUGE fan of author Megan McCafferty, so I was really excited to read this book and finally meet pre-Sloppy Firsts Jessica to see how things started! Needless to say, other fans of the Jessica Darling series should put this title on their must read list. However the other great thing about Jessica Darling's It List is that it is a younger Jessica. New readers looking for light, funny, realistic reads will enjoy her Junior High high-jinks! (And for fans, just keep an eye on that Aleck. To quote Ms. Taylor Swift, I knew he was trouble when he walked in...)

I'll see you @ the library!
Katie (Now reading Frozen, the new book by Melissa de la Cruz and Michael Johnston. I am super excited about this new paranormal book!)

This review is based on an Advanced Reader Copy sent from the publisher. Jessica Darling's It List will be published on September 3rd, which means you have Labor Day Weekend to read all of the other Jessica Darling books to realize just how awesome they are.
