Summer Reading Recommendations: Series that Go the Distance

Books in series are fun to read, especially when they take you through the whole life of the main characters. Here are a few series that go the distance and show you characters as they grow from teen to adult!

First up is the Princess Diaries. When we first meet 14-year-old Mia, she is just learning that she is a princess. In the newest book, The Royal Wedding, 26 year old Mia is still trying to be a good princess, and dealing with being a public figure.

Then there is my favorite, the Jessica Darling series. The original 5 books take readers from junior year in high school to her mid 20's, and now the new series is all about junior high Jessica. Love these books!

Who could forget the Alice books by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor? You can follow Alice from 11 to her golden years in 25 books.

If you don't have time to read 25 books, check out The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants books. 5 books, from high school to adults with four friends bound together by magical jeans.

Of course, you can always check out classics series like Little House on the Prairie, Anne of Green Gables or Betsy-Tacy!

Sorry boys, not much here for you. Of course, unless you count Harry Potter.

I'll see you @ the library!
Katie (Reading The Royal Wedding, which inspired this post!)
