Book Review: The Lumberjames Beware the Kitten Holy

Summer camp is a place for adventure, new friends, and three eyed foxes bearing messages, "Beware the Kitten Holy". Maybe not that last part, unless you are at Miss Qiunzella Thiskwin Penniquiqul Thistle Crumpet's Camp for Hardcore Lady Types.

Meet five not so normal campers, and one very exhausted counselor, who just seem to have trouble thrust upon them.  From the earlier mentioned foxes, sea monsters, stone creatures and of course hipster yeti, it seems like something is out to get them. Each chapter has them earning Lumberjane badges, from "Up All Night" to "Everything Under the Sum", so it's not like they are just adventuring for adventure sake!

Reading the Lumberjanes is about as awesome as going on an adventure with Jo, April, Mal, Molly and Ripley. Current and former scouts will love the Lumberjane Manual pages that introduce and close out each chapter.

While this was published in a more traditional comic book form, Volume One here collects issues 1-4. Casual fans of the series will be happy to know that Volume Two will be out in October, and if you really love it, you can find up to issue 17 online and in comic book stores!

Friendship to the Max!
