Book Review: Exit, Pursued by a Bear by E.K. Johnston

Hermione Winters is not a victim.  She went into cheer camp ready to be the best co-captain she could be, hoping to take her already prestigious team to new heights. She did not expect to go home broken, without memories of how it happened, or who did it.

Hemione is lucky. Everyone supports here. Her team is behind her, shutting down rumors, making sure she has a safe place to be. Her parents are supportive, standing by her no matter what she decides. Every where she turns there are people supporting her, letting her know it wasn't her fault, and helping her move forward with her life, not letting the event define her.

Exit, Pursued By a Bear is the book that gives you hope, that anyone surrounded by the right people can get through any event. Hermione is a strong character, with even stronger friends who are able to lift her up and help her move on and recover. Reading the book is best if you look past the traumatic event, and look at the relationships, between Hermione and Polly, as well as her parents and cheer-leading team.

Fans of uplifting realistic fiction, and  books by Sarah Dessen will enjoy Exit Pursued by a Bear.

I'll see you @ the library,
