Bookish Distractions

It's a rainy Friday here at the library, and we are getting ready for Summer Reading (Starts June 1st, for all ages!) and here are some bookish distractions:

Did you read From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweller when you were a bit younger? Were you obsessed with the idea of making the museum your home, like Claudia and Jaime? Then check out this article with a bit about the inspiration for the classic children's book. (Smithsonian Magazine)

Here's another fun list for those of you young at heart, Common Sense Media has a list of 50 Books you should read before you turn 12. With classics such as a Wrinkle in Time and Harold and the Purple Crayon, this list might inspire some family summer reading! (I've only read 32!)

If you are 100% over kids books, and want something more mature, check out this list of 100 Must Read Books that were adapted for TV or the movies. This list definitely has more Adult titles, but there are some YA gems on here as well! (Book Riot)

If you prefer getting one relate-able story to read, take Epic Read's quiz to find out Which YA Book is Literally the Story of your life. I got Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli, which is a great book, if not the literal story of my life.

Have a great weekend, and I'll see you @ the library!
