Book Review: Delilah Dirk and the Turkish Lieutenant by Tony Cliff

Erdemoglu Selim is not sure what he wants, more than a life with good tea and perhaps out of the Janissary Corps. But life in the 1800's Constantinople is going to be a bit more interesting when he is asked to translate for a prisoner. Especially what than prisoner is Delilah Dirk, adventurer. She's been everywhere, done about everything, and is on the run.

After she escapes, and she saves his life, they are both on the run, from the King's men, and off to steal pirate treasure in her flying ship. So much for a life of good tea and peace for Selim.

If you are looking for an adventure story that features an awesome female heroine, Delilah Dirk is the character for you. Her character breaks out on the pages, and the illustrations are breath-taking. Selim is the perfect straight man to her crazy antics, and it's easy to see how a life of peace and good tea would take a back seat to adventure with Delilah.

Delilah Dirk and the Turkish Lieutenant is a graphic novel for fans of adventure, and great illustration!

I'll see you @ the library!
