The Unnamed City, Weep, or the Lost City: a great city that stood for hundreds of years, and then something happened. 200 years ago they disappeared. The rich history of the city turned into a fairy tale, and over time the memory of the city is little more than stories. These are the stories that enchant orphan Lazlo Strange as he grows up in a monastery.
The stories give him hope in an otherwise bleak existence, and when a chance leads him to the Great Library of Zosma, he never returns to the monastery, and is kept at the library as an apprentice. He spends his days in the stacks assisting academics, and nights dreaming of the Unnamed City, looking for proof that it was real, and that the stories are not just fairy tales.
One day, warriors from the Lost City come for help. Lazlo longs for a chance to go with them, but what can he offer to a caravan of people looking to save their city?
Sarai lives with her brother and sisters. There are 5 of them, and the ghosts. It is her job to ensure that the five of them remain in the memories of the people below, by haunting the dreams of the residents. Her talent, just like theirs, gives them the ability to survive when the world below wants nothing more to end their existence. But her world changes when someone notices her in their dreams. Who is this stranger who can sense her, and seems to understand her?
Dreamy, lush and exciting, Strange the Dreamer is a fantasy, wrapped in an adventure with a love story peaking outside the edges. Anyone who wishes fairy tales were real with love this start of a two book series. It was even awarded a Printz Honor for how amazing it is!
I'll see you @ the library!

PS: Lani Taylor has announced the sequel, Muse of Nightmares, will come out October 2nd, which is fine. No really, I'm busy. I can wait. Check out the preview over at Entertainment Weekly!
