Bookish Distractions:

Memorial Day Weekend is here, and we could all use a break right? So step away from your
homework, enjoy the sunshine, and read some bookish distractions!

If you are looking for something new to read, why not check out a great sports book! Book Riot has a list of Middle Grade Sports books, which is awesome for those of you not quite ready for "YA" books yet! If you are looking for YA sports books, check out books by Miranda Kenneally, Chris Crutcher, or Geoff Herbach.

If there's one book I've yet to blog, but have capital L Loved, it's Dumplin' by Julie Murphy, and now the follow-up Puddin' is out. One theme of the book is love the body you have, and author Julie Murphy is over at Epic Reads sharing some of her favorite body positive books. No matter what your size, you should be happy with who you are!

Have you read the Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld? If yes, then you will be thrilled to know that more books are coming out from that world! There will be four new books set in a future after the events of the original series, and Entertainment Weekly has a book trailer, cover reveal and excerpt. Can you wait until September?

Finally Summer Reading starts in about one week! We have programs for all ages of readers, and the theme is Library's Rock, so there will be all sorts of music themed programs. Get ready to rock (see what I did there) with a quick quiz over at Mental Floss. You finish the song title or group name with the words Sweet, Bitter, Hot or Sour.  Good Luck!

I'll see you @ the library!
