Teen Books that Rock!

We have a new display in the Teen Space of Books that Rock! These are all YA books that feature bands, musicians, DJ's or just musically minded people. Here are some of my favorites:

Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan: Nick and Norah don't know each other yet, however one night they are thrown together when Nick asks Norah to be his girlfriend for 5 minutes. Five minutes turns into one night of craziness, full of music, cool bands and maybe a connection.

Fat Kid Rules the World by K.L. Going: Tony is just about to end it all when he is saved by Curt, who ends up recruiting him to be a drummer in his band. The lines of friendship and family are quickly blurred, as Tony learns to look past his size. After you read this one, check out the movie!

My Favorite Band Does Not Exist by Robert T. Jeschonek: Three stories wind in one book about a  band called Youforia, a band that Idea makes up, but Reacher is the lead singer for, and they both are involved in a fantasy book. Confusing, crazy and just weird enough to make a rocking book.

Somebody Everybody Listens To by Suzanne Supplee: Let's go country for a while, where singer Retta Lee Jones heads to Nashville to make it big in country music. Of course the road to success is not easy, as she learns the ins and outs of the music business.

I'll see you @ the library!
