Bookish Distractions:

It might not be tea, but the YA world is not drama free. This week's Bookish Distractions feature issues and drama from the world of YA publishing.

If you are at all interested in publishing, whether writing or any other part, read this fascinating take on what happens when someone steals cover art. If you've ever seen the amazing cover to The Poet X, it will be a huge surprise that the artist didn't quite create the cover. Epic Reads has the scoop on this story.

If book cover drama fascinates you, travel back to 2009 when Justine Larbalestier's Liar had some cover drama of it's own. I think she says it best, authors do not have final say on covers. Read this entry from her blog, way back in 2009.

If you want a long read about some YA publishing drama, check out this article over at Buzzfeed news. Sometimes it's better to not know how the art we love gets made, however if you are a fan of YA fiction, this is a fascinating read on how Twitter has helped change directions publishers have taken, sometimes for better.

And to complete our drama edition of Bookish Distractions, how can Dystopian YA come back if it never left? Book Riot gives us the scoop on Dystopian YA, and how maybe it never left.

I'll see you @ the library!
