Writing Prompt: Week Three Writers Camp

If you missed this week's Teen Writers Camp, here's your chance to participate at home! This week we talked about creating realistic, relate-able characters, that you would want to read about. A very good thing to think about is tropes or stereotypes for certain characters. So if you write a story about an athlete or a smart kid, the reader will make certain assumptions about that character.

What would happen if the Cheerleader wanted to be an engineering, and maybe didn't even like cheerleading? What would happen if the funny kid in class was really not that funny? What about if the Emo Kid really did charity work, or worked in a flower shop? These are ideas teens who came to writers camp came up with, what twist can you give a trope?

The next Teen Writers Camp is August 8th at 2-3 PM, and we'll be talking about plot!

I'll see you @ the library!
