Visual Storytelling Week 2

Welcome to the second week of Visual Storytelling!

Like so many programs this summer, this one is a little bit different via video. Hopefully you can pick up some tips and tricks to making your videos even better!

First off, here are some lessons learned:

1.       Video (for me) is best used in short snippets. I will need to work on putting these snippets together smoothly, and this will take a little practice.

2.       Always plan ahead so that you can best put things together!

3.       Don’t forget, you can always go back and add more material if you need to!

When it comes to editing your video, the first thing you will want is a video editor that works for you. I use the program that is on my desktop computer, Windows Video Editor, and I film with an iPhone or iPad. This is what I have access to. I could use iMovie, or a number of free video editing software that is available online.

Here is a list of other editors that are available. These aren’t recommendations, just ones that are out there. www.oberlo.com/blog/best-free-video-editing-software

When you start piecing your videos and pictures together, don’t forget to think about what your original purpose was. If you are diverting too much from your original intent, that’s fine. You may need to go back and film content to add, or find pictures or video to fill in what you have.

This week spend some time going through the video you have and start putting it together so that you can tell your story. Next week, I will have a fun challenge for you to create and share a video of your own!
